Karumba Point Sunset Caravan Park is without doubt one of those beautiful places that we all would love to be at
As I sit here under a shady coconut tree in Karumba Point Sunset Caravan Park with a stubby of 4 X gold in my hand and stare out at the crimson sunset flashing off the waters of the Gulf of Carpentaria, I just can’t help thinking how lucky I am to spend some time here. Karumba Point Sunset Caravan Park is without doubt one of those beautiful places that we all would love to be at. It has the lot. Great sites, shady trees, excellent facilities, cabins, villas, camp kitchen, swimming pool, entertainment area, ( and they have some great entertainers up here), free sausage sizzles, barbecues and probably the best fish cleaning facility I have ever seen in a caravan park. And the toilets are spotless. In high season they can clean them up to 6 times a day.
I am here for two weeks with the mates and we are going to get right into the fishing, crabbing and maybe get out after a few wild pigs. Talking about fishing. I am entering into the big Karumba Gulf Glory Barra Bash. It is between the 25Th and the 29Th of September. Great prices and lots of fun. Check it out https://www.sunsetcp.com.au/ There is always a lot of talk about places that are so called great fishing spots but a lot just simply don’t live up to the claims. Well I can tell you, karumba is not one of those! Karumba is a fishing mecca. If you can’t catch fish in Karumba then you just can’t catch fish! And if you are into crabs this is the place to be. While I have been here I have caught plenty. Fish, especially Blue Nose and King Salmon are about at the moment in big numbers. They just seem to want to jump in the boat and I am not complaining. Caught 2 Barra Yesterday. One was 1.2 and the other was a shade over .90. Now that’s fishing.
But it is not all about fishing in Karumba, there are lots of things to do. Sites to see, history to catch up on. Bird watching. Croc spotting tours, boat charters and live cattle exports. Golf, afternoon cruises, bingo, Sunday market and more. Plenty for the kids to do. And the food is great in the pub and the beer is cold. The Sunset Tavern is just 200 metres up the road from the park. The park is strictly a tourist park.
Thanks for reading my blurb. I travel around a lot and just thought you would like to know what a great place Karumba is and Karumba Point Sunset Caravan Park is the place to stay. Right on the water. Great spot.
Maybe I will see you up here.
Have a good day.
Mick from Brunswick.
