A weekend festival celebrating the legendary barramundi, live blues music with Ash Grunwald headlining, the fabulous Emily Wurramara will be there, as well as Tim Griffin and Split Image.
It will also officially opening the Les Wilson Barramundi Discovery Centre, brand-new iconic tourist attraction!
This annual event is the first of its kind for the very remote location in Queensland’s Gulf country. Not to be missed!
There will also be lots of activities on the Sunday, starting with a free morning yoga session, market stalls and an afternoon Big Barra BBQ – followed by an outdoor screening of the legendary movie ‘The Blues Brothers’. Come dressed up – best costumes will be rewarded!

Ash Grunwald is an Australian blues musician. He has issued eight studio albums and has received five nominations for ARIA Music Awards. Four releases peaked in the ARIA Albums Chart top 50: Fish out of Water, Hot Mama Vibes, Trouble’s Door and Gargantua.

Emily Wurramara is an Australian singer and songwriter. Originally from Groote Eylandt, she sings in both English and Anindilyakwa. She was nominated for the 2018 ARIA Award for Best Blues and Roots Album for her album Milyakburra.ily Wurramara.
Tim Griffin is an award winning Blues and Roots artist based in North Queensland. He has toured extensively both throughout Australia and Overseas since 2010. In 2012 he won the Base Q Memphis Blues Challenge in Brisbane which gave him the right to represent Queensland at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis USA.
