Are you pet friendly?
Yes. We welcome cats and dogs. Dogs must be on a lead. Pets must be supervised at all times.
Do you have a swimming pool?
Yes. We have a large size swimming pool suitable for adults and children who are supervised by an adult.
Are you kid-friendly?
Yes. We are a family-friendly, kid-friendly park. We have a jumping pillow, jungle gyms and a swimming pool for children.
Do you allow permanent residents?
We do not allow permanent residents at this time.
What time is check-in?
Check-in time is from 1pm on the day of arrival. Check-out time is 10am on the day of departure. Strictly enforced.
Are open fires allowed?
No open air fires or naked flames permitted. This includes coal barbecues, candles and fireworks.
Do you have a fish-cleaning station?
We sure do! It accommodates up to 16 people. There is a freezer on site to store away fish remains so there’s no nasty smell.
Do you have laundry facilities?
Yes. We have coin-operated washing machines.
Do you offer wifi?
Yes we do. Wifi is strongest around Reception.
What are the office hours?
The park office is open from 7.30am to 5.30pm every day.
What is there to do in Karumba?
Oh boy! Where do we start? There are Ferryman River Cruises, Croc and Crab tours, the Les Wilson Barramundi Discovery Center, Kerry D Fishing Charters, Karumba Fishing Adventures, Walking Trails, Happy Hour at the Sunset Tavern, Golf, Bird Watching, Train Tours, Scenic Walks, Craft Days, Happy Hours, Crabbing, Croc Spotting, Scenic Flights, Market Days, Tennis, Karaoke, Dining Out, Relaxing with your Mates and more!
Are the roads to Karumba sealed?
Yes. Roads are sealed from Mt. Isa and Cairns. The majority of road from Cairns is a dual carriageway.
Is it best to book ahead?
Yes. Karumba Point Sunset Caravan Park is a very popular park. Especially during peak season. We strongly recommend booking your stay in advance to avoid disappointment.
Do you have an Internet station?
Yes. An internet station is available. Free wifi also available.
Is there an ATM?
Yes. An ATM is available at Ash’s Store in Karumba Point and at the Sunset Tavern across the road.
Are there medical facilities in Karumba?
Yes. There is a pharmacy, medical center and ambulance service in Karumba. There is a hospital 70 kilometers away at Normanton. The Flying Doctor also operates in the area for any unforeseen medical emergencies. They operate during all weather seasons and conditions.
Do the Villas have cooking facilities?
Yes. All our villas are equipped with a kitchenette and cooking facilities. Villas also include ensuite bathroom, dining table and chairs, outdoor seating area, microwave and television.
Is a License required for recreational fishing?
No. A license is not required for recreational fishing in Queensland tidal waters. We recommend visiting the The Department of Primary Industries and Fisheries Queensland for further information about fishing in Karumba.
